自然界の有機的な造形に魅せられ、植物などから型を取ってキャスト(鋳造)し、ジュエリーにしました。

全てのジュエリーは、キャスト(鋳造)の工程を除き、大阪南船場のスタジオにて、作家の手作業で作られています。

現在、オンライン販売、受注制作、大阪市内のイベントに参加。

また委託業務にて、牛乳石鹸共進社株式会社、爆汗湯10周年記念プロジェクトでのノベルティ『純金HOTちゃん』を製作。

京都外国語大学外国語学部英米語学科卒業。
2000年渡米。
ニューヨーク州立ファッション工科大学
アドバタイジングアンドマーケティングコミュニケーション学科卒業。
クチュールブランドのPRアシスタントや商社向けマーケティングリサーチなど、ファッション関係の仕事をするも、アーティストの友人たちに触発され創作の道へ。

National Academy and School of Fine Arts にてグラントを授与されながら、彫刻家 Anthony Antonios 氏(https://theartstudentsleague.org/instructor/anthony-antonios-2/)
から解剖学に基づいた人体彫刻、イタリア人の現代アーティスト Maurizio Pellegrin (http://www.mauriziopellegrin.com/) 氏からインスタレーションアートを学ぶ。

ニューヨークダイヤモンド街のファインジュエリーメゾン Ionescu Design Inc. (https://ionescujewels.com)にてIon Ionescu氏に師事。ジュエラーとして働きながら彫金と宝石について学ぶ。

約15年のニューヨーク滞在を終え帰国。

Attracted by the beauty of organic shapes of nature, the designer and jeweler, Yukiko Kawata creates jewelry made of casting plants and flowers.

Studied Jewelry Design at The Fashion Institute of Technology in New York with full scholarship sponsored by The Tiffany & Co. Foundation after engaged working in the fashion industry as a public relations and marketing.

To encourage creativity, Yukiko also studied sculpture of the human form anatomically by Anthony Antonios (https://theartstudentsleague.org/instructor/anthony-antonios-2/) and installation art by Maurizio Pellegrin (http://www.mauriziopellegrin.com/) at The National Academy and School of Fine Arts and received several awards.

Worked for a fine jewelry company, Ionescu Design Inc. (https://ionescujewels.com) in the diamond district of New York, and learned gold smithing and gemology under a master goldsmith and designer, Ion Ionescu.

After about 15 years of living in New York, Yukiko has returned to Osaka, Japan.
